Summary: CHARLIE was developed to strengthen the capacity of institutions and educational audiences to understand, identify and address bias in big data and in artificial intelligence and machine learning systems. The project adopted a socio-technical approach to AI ethics, seeking not only to explain the risks of bias, but also to promote practical competences for measuring, managing and reducing those risks in different contexts. Its results include competence matrices, training materials and pedagogical resources focused on Ethical AI and algorithmic bias, designed to support a more critical, fairer and more responsible digital transformation.
